Procurement Policy

The City of Monash is committed to providing Best Value in the services it provides to the community. An important element in achieving this is the responsible procurement of goods, services or works.

The Procurement Policy aligns with the Council Plan 2009-2013, particularly - Strategic Objective 5 - Our people and organisation;
  • An organisation that is responsive to the evolving needs of the community.
  • An organisation that is responsibly governed with a strong emphasis on astute financial management.
  • An organisation that values and supports the development of its people, and strives to be an employer of choice.
When evaluating goods, services or works a balanced approach will be adopted by Council to give due consideration to achieving the "triple bottom line" (economic, social and environmental) to the procurement outcome. Council will take into account:
  • Value for money;
  • Current and long term benefit to the community; and
  • Sustainability of the environment
