Cr Jieh-Yung Lo - Mt Waverley Ward
DEPUTY MAYOR
Jieh-Yung, graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Asian Studies.
Since 2006, he has worked in policy and project roles at the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV), the Essendon Football Club and National Disability Services (NDS) where he gained experience working on key issues such as multiculturalism, housing, sport, environment, transport, disability, employment, education, and community development.
Jieh-Yung believes his greatest professional and personal achievement was being elected as a Councillor for the first time in November 2008 at the City of Monash. Since November 2011, he was elected by his Councillor colleagues to serve as Deputy Mayor for 2011/12.
Jieh-Yung serves as Senior Policy Officer at the Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) while juggling his Council duties.
Jieh-Yung draws his inspiration and motivation from his parents who were very hard working migrants for instilling in him the importance of a good education, work ethics and solid values.
Jieh-Yung currently resides in Mount Waverley, Melbourne, Victoria. He is also fluent in Chinese Cantonese and Mandarin.
