Cr Denise McGill OAM - Oakleigh Ward
Councillor McGill has a long history of community involvement and representation in both the Clayton and Oakleigh areas.
A former Councillor (1987-1994) and Mayor (1990-1991) of the City of Oakleigh, Cr McGill was also the State Member for Oakleigh for seven years (1992-1999) and believes she can contribute her broad experience and intimate local knowledge of both her ward and the wider community of Monash to Council deliberations.
Cr McGill is married with four adult children and has lived in Clayton all her married life. She has experienced every facet of community life from maternal health, kinders, scouts, guides, schools (primary and secondary) to recreational and sporting groups and through her time as Volunteer Co-ordinator at Monash Medical Centre.
Cr McGill says she would like to see an increased awareness of the unique parkland and history of the Pioneer Memorial Park as well as other bushland reserves throughout the City.
