No smoking in Playgrounds
Monash Council was the first Council in Victoria to adopt a local law prohibiting smoking in playgrounds.
The objective of the local law is to prohibit smoking within a playground located in a Council reserve to protect the health and enjoyment of Council's residents.
By adopting the local law Monash Council is improving the health and particularly the heart health of the community by reducing their exposure to environmental tobacco smoke.
